Now free wheelchair facility is not available at Lucknow Charbagh Railway Station; Passengers will have to pay fees
Passengers traveling from Charbagh, the main railway station of Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh, will now have to leave bags for an important facility. Until earlier, the wheelchair facility available for passengers has now been paid. Passengers at the Charbagh Railway Station will now have to deposit Rs 50 per wheelchair and Rs 500 as security money for wheelchairs. The Railway Administration recently opened this new system by Jana -Sahiya Kendra at the station. If a passenger wants to serve the attendant with a wheelchair, an extra Rs 150 must be paid for this. That is, if a passenger wants to get a wheelchair service, including a servant, he will have to pay Rs 700 (500 security + 50 rental + 150 -fee). However, the security amount will be returned to service. This change is considered a shock to senior citizens, disabled travelers and helpless people at the Charbagh Railway Station under Lucknow section. Earlier, this facility was completely free and was easily made available to needy passengers. Railway officials say it is run by the Janalysis Center to make this service systematic and convenient. The argument behind the adoption of the fee was given that it could prevent the abuse of wheelchairs and services, be made more efficiently available. However, there is resentment among the passengers about this decision. Many passengers say that this facility of the railway could not walk especially, and it is not appropriate to take money from it. Passengers demanded to withdraw it soon and call it an ‘anti -people -step’. At the same time, the railways were said that the fee is modest and that the receipt is also provided to maintain transparency in it. This step is also needed to ensure the availability of wheelchair and maintain their position. At present, this system has only been implemented at Charbagh station, but if successful, it can also be implemented at other stations of the Lucknow section. It must now be seen whether the railway makes any change in this decision after the response of the passengers. Share this story -tags
