New initiative from the Ministry of Home Affairs E-Geero Firo will speed up the catch of criminals: AMIT Shah
New -Delhi, May 19 (IANS). Interior Minister Amit Shah said on Monday that the Cyber Crime Coordination Center of the Ministry of Home Affairs (I4C) has launched a new e-georo fir initiative to catch criminals at an unprecedented rate. Amit Shah said in a post on social media platform X that it was introduced as a pilot project for Delhi, it will automatically convert cyber -financial offenses registered on the new system, NCRP or Helpline number 1930. Initially it is for a limit above Rs 10 lakh. The new system will accelerate the investigation, which will tighten cyber criminals, and soon it will be expanded across the country. He said the Modi government strengthened the cyber security structure to create cyber-safe India. He said it is an important step to complete Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Cyber Safe India’. The Union Minister at the recent Judgment Meeting of the Cyber Crime Coordination Center of India (I4C) aimed at implementing this initiative, taking into account the problems facing victims of Cyber Financial Missions to return the money. The National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and the National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930 enabled easy reporting and rapid action of complaints related to the financial offenses of cyber financing. The new process launched includes the i-fir system of the i-fir system of the i-fir system and the criminal tracking network and system (CCTNs) of the Delhi police and the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). Now complaints related to financial loss of more than Rs 10 lakh on NCRP and Helpline number 1930 will automatically be registered as zero fir at the e-crime police station in Delhi. It will be sent to the relevant local police officers immediately. The complainants can go to the Cyber Crime police station within three days and transform zero fir into an ordinary fir. Delhi police and Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C), the Ministry of Home Affairs, worked together to institute a process for registration of business according to new provisions of section 173 (1) and 1 (ii) of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS). The process of electronic issuing of FIRs will initially begin as a pilot project in Delhi without paying attention to local jurisdiction. Later it will be implemented in other countries and trade union areas. Delhi’s e-crime police station was notified to register an e-fir for complaints of cybercrime of a specific nature registered on NCRP and transferred it to regional police stations. This initiative will improve the process of converting NCRP/1930 complaints in FIRs, which will easily recover the victims who have lost the money and facilitate criminal action against cyber criminals.
