The Mumbai Unit of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has exposed a major scam in which revenue is stolen by disorders such as incorrect statement and crimes statement. DRI became acquainted with the scam from a specific intelligence formula, after which the authorities acted quickly and attacked business complexes, warehouses, frequency turners, custom brokers and other related places. Investigation revealed that some importers deliberately try to avoid custom duty by showing the value of furniture very low. According to sources, these importers declared 60 to 80 percent lower price than the actual price of luxury furniture in India. In addition, the real nature and class of the product were also declared wrong to utilize low tax rates. DRI officials investigated the documents, invoices and import accounts used in the scam. It is estimated that the initial assessment theft of custom duty worth the rupees of rupees. DRI is now preparing for legal action against the persons and companies involved in these cases under the Customs and Other Covenant Laws Act. This scam not only damages government income, but also raised questions about the transparency and fairness of the import export system.
