Modi Magic in Croatia, Mantra reflected in the welcoming prime minister, welcomed people with joy
Jagreb, June 18 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaches Jagreb, the capital of Croatia, where he was warmly welcomed by the Indian community and the inhabitants. This is the first historical visit of any Indian Prime Minister for Croatia, which is expected to include a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries. The visit of Premier Modi is the last stop for the tour of three countries, in which he attended the G-7 Summit of Tuesday in Kananaskis, Canada via Cyprus. Prime Minister Modi himself received a great welcome at Franzo Tuzman Airport in Jagreb through the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrez Plankovic. Premier Modi expressed gratitude to the social media platform ‘X’ for this affinity, saying: ‘It’s a special journey. I am grateful for this special sentiment of Premier Andrez Plankovic who welcomes at the airport. ‘ Once the Prime Minister’s Motor Wagon has reached Jagreb, a large number of people and local citizens gathered on the street. Traditional cultural performances also took place between the slogans of “Modi-Modi”, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Dist Mataram”, which the prime minister saw smiling. PM Modi expressed Vedic Shlokas with the people present and also died with some citizens. The Croatian Prime Minister Plankovich said that the journey is taking place at an important geopolitical time and that a new chapter begins to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Prior to his visit, Prime Minister Modi said he was waiting for meetings with President Joran Milanovich and Prime Minister Plankovic. He also said that this journey is an opportunity to strengthen global understanding of terrorism and thank countries that support India’s efforts. India and Croatia have a bilateral trade of approximately $ 300 million, while India has invested about $ 48 million in Croatia. The two countries have a tremendous potential for collaboration in areas such as innovation, defense, shipping, science technology, cultural exchange and labor mobility. In history, the relationship between the two countries is also reflected. The Goa -based church of Sao Braz is called by Croatian people around 1563. There were also old business and religious contacts between Dubrovnik Princely State and Goa. From December 2024, approximately 17,000 Indian citizens lived in Croatia, most of which are temporarily there under contract -based jobs. Due to changes in Croatian demographics, many foreign workers have been working in recent years, in which the participation of Indians has increased rapidly.
