Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Sunday, following the chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma’s ‘visited Pakistan’ raises, repeated three questions he raised earlier in the day. In a post on X, Gogoi asked the cm if he would resign if he did not prove his allegations against Gogoi and his wife as agents of an enemy country, and if the CM asked questions about his own children and wife. The splash between the two leaders began after Assam CM Sarma, in a post on X, asked a parliament from Congress whether he remained in Pakistan a continuous 15 -day period. Without mentioning anyone, Sarma also asked if the wife of the leader gets salary of an NGO in Pakistan. ‘Questions for the Hon’Ble member of the Parliament of the Congress Party: 1. Did you visit Pakistan for a continuous 15 -day period? If so, would you kindly clarify the purpose of your visit? ‘ he asks. The CM also questioned whether it is true that the wife of the MP “still receives a salary from an NGO in Pakistan while living and working in India”. “If so, we can ask why a Pakistan-based organization pays a salary for activities offered in India?” Sarma questioned. He also asked about the citizenship status of the wife of the MP and two children. “Are they Indian citizens, or do they keep the citizenship of any other country? Many more questions will follow,” he added. First published: 27 Apr 2025, 07:20 IST
