Traffic Police Asi was convicted of the bribe of three thousand, convicted, 4 years imprisonment and penalty of 10 thousand fine
Jagran correspondent, New -Delhi. A special judge -based court in Rouse Avenue sentenced Asi Yatendra Kumar of Delhi Traffic Police to four years in prison for receiving bribes. Special Judge Deepali Sharma also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the conviction. He said corruption is one of the biggest obstacles in the progress of the country. The Corruption Prevention Act was implemented to ensure transparency and honesty in public life, and this case shows how a civil servant abused his government post and threatened the ordinary citizen for personal benefit and demanded bribery. The court said it is essential to punish strictly in such cases, so that liability among civil servants is maintained and corruption stops. The complainant manager Munna told the court that he confiscated the car for not paying bribes when he took the empty pace on August 19, 2016, when he reached the Bridge Mithi Chowk on the Azad market, Asi Yatendra Kumar and other policemen stopped him. He was then asked to get off the car and threatened that if he would not give a bribe of three thousand rupees, his car would be confiscated.
