Mahendra Singh Dhoni gets great honor, entry into ICC Hall of Fame, BCCI congratulated
Cricket News Desk. Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was included in the ICC Hall of Fame. Dhoni is the 11th Indian player that joins this list. The ICC gave this information on Monday. Apart from Dhoni, former South African batsman Hashim Amla, former Australian batsman Matthew Hayden, former South African captain Graeme Smith, former New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori, Pakistan women’s team player Sana Mir and English women’s team player Sara Taylor. It has been almost five years since Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020 for his retirement from international cricket. Dhoni played his last match for India in the ODI World Championships in 2019. India lost the game and was out of the tournament. After this, Dhoni played no match for India and decided to retire from international cricket on August 15, 2020. Dhoni is one of the most successful captains of India, known as Captain Cool, three ICC titles won under his captaincy. Dhoni, a Ranchi resident, gave India the title of 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni is the only Indian captain, under whose captaincy the team won three ICC titles. Apart from this, India also won the Asia Cup title in 2010, 2016 under his leadership. Dhoni made his debut for India against Bangladesh in 2004. What Indian received this honor is Dhoni the 11th player from India to join the ICC Hall of Fame. Before him, Neetu David, Virender Sehwag, Daine Edulji, Vinod Mankad, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, Bishan Singh Bedi and Sunil Gavascar received this honor. Gavaskar and Bishan Singh Bedi are the oldest Indian players who join the ICC Hall of Fame. He received this honor in 2009. Dhoni also spread his fate in the IPL, apart from giving India the ICC title, he also won Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Champions League T20. He won five IPL titles in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. Under Dhoni’s Captaincy, CSK won the Champions League T20 title in 2010 and 2014. He has two half centers in this format. His best score is 56 runs. Dhoni talked about the test and played 90 games, in which he scored 4,876 runs on an average of 38.09. He scored six centuries and 33 half -centers, with his best score 224. He is the 14th highest run for India in tests. As captain, he led India in 60 Tests, of which 27 have won matches, 18 and 15 draws. With a 45 percent winning percentage, he is one of the most successful captains in India. He took Team India to the number one ranking on the ICC test ranking. Dhoni played 350 ODIs for India in which he scored 10773 runs. During this he scored ten centuries and 73 half centers. His highest score in ODIs was 183 not out.
