NIA takes over Pahalgam -terrorist attack case | Today news

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 in which 26 tourists were shot dead by terrorists: Sources told Ani. Earlier, Ani reported that the NIA, in collaboration with other agencies, was assisting the Jammu and Kashmir police with the ongoing investigation. The terror attack was claimed by the Pakistan-based outfit, the resistance front (TRF), which operates as a proxy for Pakistan-based terrorist groups. Meanwhile, intelligence agencies have identified 14 local terrorists currently employed in the region, reports Ani with reference to sources. These individuals, aged between 20 and 40, help foreign terrorists from Pakistan by providing logistics and terrain support, reports Ani. The identified operative is reportedly associated with three major terrorist outfits in Pakistan: Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-E-Taiba (note) and JAISH-E-Mohammed (JEM). Among them, three are associated with Hizbul Mujahideen, eight with note, and three with Jem. Earlier, authorities also released three sketches of Pakistani terrorists – as Fauji, Suleman Shah and Abu Tala. In addition, two operatives from the Kashmir Valley, Adil Guri and Ahsan, were identified. A reward of £ 20 Lakh was offered for information that led to their catch.
