Sánchez initially revealed her intention to fly to space with a female crew on board Blue Origin’s new Shepard rocket during a 2023 interview with Vogue. The new Shepard rocket, developed by Blue Origin, was built to carry paying passengers on a short trip to the edge of space, providing a short experience of weightlessness during a flight of about 11 minutes.
