Karnataka Reservation: Vokkaliga and Lingayat will get reservation in Karnataka, Bommai government made this decision before the election

The BJP government of Karnataka on Thursday announced the transfer of Panchmasali Lingayat subgroup from Category 3B to Category 2C and Vokkaliga to Category 3A to Category 2D, which brought both politically influential communities to the OBC category. Jesse Madhuswamy, Minister of Legislation, said the state cabinet decided to abolish the categories of 3a and 3b, including these communities received reservation and jobs. Both communities have reserved under Category 2A, but the government has made Category 2C and 2D to meet this question. He also made it clear that the discussion for different cabinets under Category 2A will not be touched and will continue in the same form. The remaining quota in 10 percent discussion under EWS will be moved to 2c and 2D categories. However, it is not clear how much discussion quota will be allocated to Lingayat and Vokkaliga communities. Under the guidance of Jayamityunjaya Swamiji, the Panchamasali Subsek took out a major padyatra and set a time limit for the announcement of discussion under Category 2A. Leaders of the Vokkaliga community thanked Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for raising the discussion. Category 2A provides discussion for other backward communities (OBCs). The Karnataka state government has transferred communities to these categories.
