Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to Maratha Warrior King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Raigad Fort on the occasion of the 345th death anniversary on Saturday. He also visited Shivaji Maharaj with a centenary celebrations for renovating the grave. Shah was accompanied by Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, as well as the BJP leader and Shivaji -Nasate Udayanraje Bhosle. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj died in April 1680 in Raigad Fort due to complications for health. The tour of Shah, who took place in the midst of political controversy, takes place in the background of increasing political tensions in the state, in which the debate over the legacy of historical persons such as Aurangzeb and Shivaji Maharaj has tightened. The Union Minister is expected to hold significant discussions with the leaders of the Mahayuti coalition about the controversial appointment of patron dements for Raigad and Nashik districts. Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, confirmed that Shah could meet NCP president Sunil Tatkare at his home for lunch with Chief Minister Fadnavis and Deputy Head Minister Eknath Shinde. Pawar told reporters: “The issue of President of Raigad and Nashik is expected to come up at the meeting.” Recently, the Girish Mahajan of BJP was appointed Nashik and NCP’s Aditi Tatkare as the Principle of Raigad, the speculation of cracks in the Shiv Sena-BJP-NCP alliance has tightened.
