Jenna Fischer Shows ‘Post-Chemo Bangs’ in New Selfie – ryan

Jenner Fischer is feeling confident.

On April 16, the Office star gave fans an update on how her hair’s been growing out after undergoing chemotherapy to treat her stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer.

Alongside a new selfie of her showing off her curly brown hair, Fischer, 51, wrote: “I am borderline obsessed with my messy uncontrollably curly post-chemo bangs. They are giving me ’80s vibes all day and I’m here for it.”

“Positive comments only because it’s what they (her bangs) deserve. They are the best,” she added.

Her fellow Office Ladies podcaster Angela Kinsey commented, “I loooove it,” while Leslie Bibb wrote, “I think you look f—— great.” Olivia Munn, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023, added, “I’m so happy you’re loving it now! I am too.”

Following the news of her diagnosis announcement, which Fischer shared on Instagram in October 2024 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the actress opened up to Today’s Hoda Kotb about the effects her treatments had on her hair.

“When they told me I had to have chemo, the first thing I thought was, ‘I don’t want to throw up, and I don’t want to lose my hair,’” she recalled. “I did not throw up, but I did lose my hair.”

“And it’s all us ladies talk about. How much Googling did I do of hair and pictures of hair and, ‘What will it look like?’ It’s funny. The way that I lost it, it doesn’t come out evenly,” she continued. “It comes out in fits and starts. And so I started by having just like a big, bald patch down this side of my head. And I would kind of do like a real elaborate comb-over.”

After the diagnosis, which Fischer received in December 2023 through a series of tests following a “routine mammogram and ultrasound,” she underwent 12 rounds of chemo, three weeks of radiation and has since been treated with infusions of two other medications. Throughout it all, she admitted she “never had a big shave-your-head moment.” As she adjusted to her new reality, she began wearing wigs and hats with hair, but expressed during the sit-down that she was ready to embrace her natural hair.

Fischer, who is now cancer-free, has been posting plenty of her longer locks on social media. Her grown-out pixie cut can be seen in a January 2025 Instagram photo she posted to celebrate the “one-year anniversary” of her breast cancer surgery.

“I spent the day in St. Louis surrounded by family doing a belated Christmas with grandparents and cousins after luxuriating at my FAVORITE hotel of all time the @fssstlouis I mean…cozy robe, coffee, book, and that view!” she captioned a picture of her lounging in a hotel room with a view of the Gateway Arch. “Hair is growing back (slowly and wildly, but it’s growing),” she added.
