Jerusalem, April 12 (IANS). The Israeli Security Force (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday that it had surrounded Rafah, the city of the South Gaza strip. According to this statement, the armored section of the IDF completed the establishment of the ‘Morag Corridor’ and siege. The route is designed to separate Rafa and Khan Younis in southern Gaza. It is said that IDF soldiers killed dozens of terrorists during this operation over the past one and a half weeks and destroyed several military structures, including underground tunnels. The IDF said in its statement that it would increase operational control over the ‘Morag Corridor’ and carry out an ‘anti-terrorism’ campaign in the region. Later on Saturday, the IDF also said that its air force also stopped the three rockets fired from Gaza to southern Israel. Shortly after the rocket was fired to Gaza, Sirens began to ring with the border in Israel. There is no news about damage to anyone in the attack. The IDF issued an order on Friday to evacuate the place immediately for the people of many areas in East Gaza City, as the military operations in the area intensified. In a message posted on social media platform X, the spokeswoman for the IDF Arabic Language Avicha Adrai called on the citizens to go to the West for their safety. According to a report of the news agency Shinhua, he wrote, “IDF works deeply to destroy the terrorist structure in your areas. For your safety, you should immediately go to shelter centers in the west of Gaza.” Meanwhile, the IDF said in a statement that it killed the militant Ahmed Iyad Mohammad Farhat of Hamas during an operation recently in the Oil Al-Sultan Refugee Camp in Rafa of South Gaza Patti. According to the IDF, Farhat was the head of the sniper operation for Hamas’ counting al-Sultan battalion and was responsible for organizing and executing attacks on Israeli forces. The IDF also reported additional operation in the southern and North Gaza strip from Thursday, which killed several Hamas terrorists.
