Indian female hockey team returned to the national camp in Bangalore before the new season!

With a few leading tournaments ahead in 2023, the Indian Women’s Hockey team will return to the national camp to start preparations for the opportunities, based on good performance in the previous year. The team is confident after winning the first season of the FIH Women’s Rashtra Cup 2022 in Spain and qualified for 2023-24 Fih Hockey Women’s Pro League in Spain. Hockey India informed this on Friday. Hockey India nominated 33 players as a nuclear potential squad for the national camp held from January 2 to January 13, when players will work hard to further improve their strategies and combinations with the upcoming tour in South Africa from January. The tour starts from January 14 and runs until January 28. The core group for the National Camp consists of veteran goaler Savita, Rajni Etimarpur, Bichu Devi Kharibam and Bansari as Kanki. The defenders nominated for the camp are Deep Grace Ekka, Gurjit Kaur, Nikki Pradhan, Ishika Chaudhary, Akshata Abaso Dhekle, Udita, Rit and Mahima Chaudhary. The Indian women hockey team defeated Spain in the final of the FIH Women’s Rashtra Cup 2022 in Valencia. She was on a short break after the tournament before returning to the Sai’s national camp in Bangalore. “The team had a good break and is ready to work on our plans and goals for 2023,” Head coach Jenk Shopman said.
