Foreign Minister of India S. There was a telephone conversation between Jaishankar and the acting minister of foreign affairs, Aamir Khan Muttki of the interim government of Afghanistan. The conversation took place on Thursday (May 15, 2025). This is the first time this conversation has taken place between the Foreign Minister of India and the Minister of the Interim Government of Afghanistan. During this conversation, Mutghanistan’s acting foreign minister, Muttki, condemned the Pahalgam terror attack. Muttki’s move was appreciated by the Indian Foreign Minister and wrote on X that “Muttki rejects the latest efforts to bring about distrust between India and Afghanistan on the basis of false and unfounded reports, which I welcome.” Dr Jaishankar’s discussions with the acting minister of foreign affairs in Afghanistan have many meanings. This dialogue is important because the tension between India and Pakistan continues and the distance between Afghanistan and Pakistan increases. It is also noteworthy here that India has not yet recognized Afghanistan’s Taliban government. But in the midst of the changing equation, the Foreign Minister in India has various meanings of Afghanistan’s interaction with the acting minister of foreign affairs of Afghanistan. Relationships with Pakistan are bitter, but Afghan citizens have a hearty relations with India, disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan are constantly increasing, whether it is a border dispute or other issues between the two. India has also always stood for the well -being of Afghan citizens, regardless of the circumstances. India maintained a hearty relations with the ordinary people of Afghanistan. India has invested heavily in Afghanistan before the Taliban comes to power, including major projects such as roads, hospitals, electricity. There were earlier discussions between India and the Interim government of Afghanistan in Dubai in January 2025. The meeting was attended by India’s Foreign Minister and the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in Afghanistan. There were some meetings in Kabul earlier, but the information was not made public. Relations in India-Afghanistan could raise Pakistan’s concern, but the way the Pakistan government stands against the Afghan population has created a major controversy between the two countries on all issues. This conversation between everyone indicates that India’s strategy can change in this region. India has constantly sent humanitarian help so that people can get help there, but this time this conversation can certainly raise the concern of Pakistan. It is yet to be seen what is the result of the conversation between the caretaker government of India and Afghanistan. But one thing is clear that Pakistan will not like this conversation.
