Lindsay Lohan Lands Leading Role in New Series with a Surprising Connection to ‘This Is Us’ – ryan

Lindsay Lohan is coming to a small screen near you!

PEOPLE can confirm that the actress, 38, is set to star and executive produce Count My Liesa drama series in development at Hulu. Based on Sophie Stava’s novel of the same name, the series will also be executive-produced and written by This Is Us co-showrunners and How I Met Your Father co-creators Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.

According to an official logline, the series follows a “compulsive liar” named Sloane Caraway and when she “fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet and Jay Lockhart, it seems she’s finally landed her dream job.”

“But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all,” it concludes.

Count My Lies will be Aptaker and Berger’s third series with Hulu and Lohan’s first lead television role.

The news comes as Lohan is set to reprise her role as Anna in Freakier Friday alongside Jamie Lee Curtis. The upcoming sequel to the original 2003 Freaky Friday began production in June 2024 and will premiere in theaters in August.

In a July 2024 conversation with NightlineLohan opened up about returning to Walt Disney Studios more than 20 years after shooting the original movie.

“For me, it was when I went on to the Disney lot,” she smiled. “And being back on the Disney lot, because that’s not just Freaky Friday. For me, that’s The Parent Trap. That’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. That’s Herbie.”

She continued, “It’s so many moments for me. So when I got there, I kind of felt like this essence of a little kid again.”

The star teased the upcoming sequel in the interview, saying it’s going to be “much freakier than you would expect.”

Though the two are reuniting after two decades, Lohan added that she and Curtis have maintained a close relationship after filming the original film all those years ago.

“Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years,” she smiled. “So it’s kind of, you know, they always say, like, when you have a best friend or someone who you are really close with, if you cannot see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it’s like you never separated.”
