Saharan Porters gathered exclusively that Kingsley, who was about 20 years old at the time, was preparing to write his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (Wassce) when he was suddenly thrown behind bars. A young Nigerian, Precious Kingsley, spent nearly six years in prison after being arrested in 2019 for missing jewelry belonging to former first lady Patience Jonathan in the Bayelsa state. Saharan Porters gathered that his only crime was a regular visitor to his mother, a domestic worker in the first lady’s household. Saharan Porters gathered exclusively that Kingsley, who was about 20 years old at the time, was preparing to write his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (Wassce) when he was suddenly thrown behind bars. A family source who spoke to Saharan Porters set out the ordeal and described it as a abuse of power that ruined the future of the young man. “Precious Kingsley is the son of Deborah Erema. Deborah is one of those who are locked up at the command of patience Jonathan about her missing jewelry. He lives in Port Harcourt and visits his mother, Deborah, who worked in her Patience Jonathan home,” the source revealed. The source further rejected the demands that Kingsley joined Mrs. Jonathan’s household was present when the jewelry allegedly disappeared and said, ‘Not at all. He visited last two months before the incident. The incident happened long after visiting his mother. I think he prepared for Waec (Wassce). ‘ Despite no concrete evidence that connects to the missing jewelry, Kingsley was arrested, detained and left in prison. His education and future were suddenly discontinued. “Kingsley turned last month, March 2025, 26. That means he was 20 or 21 years old when he was arrested,” the source continued. ‘Since then, he has not been able to promote his education. Nearly six years of his life have been wasted. He should have completed his first degree now. But he is weakening in prison without hoping when he will be released for what he knows nothing about. ‘ The source also insisted that Kingsley had no official role in Jonathan’s household and was merely a visitor. “Kingsley did not work under the former first lady. His only offense was that his mother, Deborah, worked there. And because he normally visited her, I do not know why the young boy is seen as a suspect,” the source said. Saharan Porters also reported how Kingsley’s mother Deborah Erema was not allowed to bury her daughter after being detained for more than five years at the command of the former first lady. Deborah Erema, who worked as a domestic worker in the Jonathan household, has disappeared with 14 others in prison since 2019 after being accused of stealing jewelry belonging to Patience Jonathan. The names of other kept workers are Williams Alami, Vincent Olabiyi, Ebuka Cosmos, John Dashe, Tamunocuro Abaku, Sahabi Lima, Emmanuel Aginwa, Precious Kingsley, Tamunosiki Achese, Salomi Warebok, Sunday Reginald, Boma Oba, Vivian Golden and Emka Benson. “Deborah Erema has lost her daughter. She died after struggling alone to care for her mother, Deborah, and her younger brother, Precious Kingsley, who is also here with his mother,” the source said. “The sad part is that she was not allowed to bury her daughter.” The source added that another detainee, Tamunocuro Abaku, also lost his older brother, who was his only source of support. “Tamunocuro Abaku also lost his older brother, who was a backbone for the well -being of his younger brother,” the source said. The source noted that the daughter of Deborah Erema had too much burden on her shoulders, to take care of herself, her siblings and her enclosed mother. “Yes, because she had so much to look after. She was a single mother of about two or three children. When the situation’s situation added, she became too much for her. She got sick for a while and later dead, ‘the source said. When Asp Musa Mohammed was contacted, Asp Musa Mohammed told Sahara Porters that he was not aware of the matter. “I just hear about the matter, but I promise you, I will investigate it. I will definitely investigate you, ‘he told Sahara Porters on Friday morning.
