The chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, met on Thursday President Donald Trump and the Emir of Qatar in Doha. The high -profile meeting reflects Ambani’s growing influence on global affairs and diplomacy. Over the years, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the country’s sovereign wealth fund has made major investments in various reliance businesses. While business reservations are off the table, its oil-to-retail concept businesses have now linked to US president decisions. Last year, Reliance assured a waiver of the US to resume the import of crude oil from Venezuela. However, it had to stop that in March after Trump, a 25 percent tariff on countries buying the oil from the South American country. Reliance also sells fuel such as gasoline made of crude oil bought from countries such as Russia in the US market. Ambani and Trump family ties also maintain strong business ties with large US technical companies such as Google and Meta. The meeting can further strengthen international partnerships and investment prospects for Reliance Industries. Ambani and his wife Nita attended Trump’s second inauguration in January. They were also part of the Select 100 who attended an intimate candlelight dinner at Trump a day before the inauguration. At the dinner, the two also met Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha, sources said. Ambanis shares close ties to the Trump family. President Trump has announced several agreements with Qatar worth more than $ 243.5 billion, along with a broader economic bursary worth at least $ 1.2 billion. The transactions were signed during a visit to Qatar and include sectors of aviation and energy to defense and quantum technology. The agreements are expected to support more than 1 million US jobs and the strategic cooperation between Washington and Doha will deepen and support strategic collaboration between Washington and Doha. The White House issued a statement on Wednesday saying: “Today in Qatar, President Donald J. Trump signed an agreement with Qatar to generate an economic exchange worth at least $ 1.2 trillion. President Trump also announced economic transactions of more than $ 243.5 billion between the United States and Qatar, including a historical sale of Boeing flights and plagues to Qatar.”
