There was a very fertile and positive encounter with PM Modi: Oli
Bangkok, April 4 (IANS). Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said on Friday that ‘very fertile and positive’ with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was discussed during the sixth Bimstec summit. Prime Minister Oli wrote in a post on social media platform X, “I held a cordial encounter with my dear friend Narendra Modi. Our conversation was very fruitful and positive.” Nepal is considered an important partner under the ‘Narud First’ policy of India, and the Friday meeting continued the tradition of high-level contacts between the two countries, and the two leaders decided to work together to further strengthen bilateral relations. Prime Minister Modi had earlier placed on X and said: “A successful meeting held in Bangkok with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. India gives a major priority to his relations with Nepal. We discussed various aspects of India-Nepal friendship, especially in the field of energy, connectivity, culture and digital technology.” The two leaders were satisfied with the physical and digital connection between India and Nepal, the relationships between the people and the progress in the field of energy. The two leaders first met in New York at the United Nations General Assembly meeting. Prior to the meeting, an official of the Foreign Ministry said of Nepal that he hoped the meeting would pave the way for Prime Minister Oli’s visit to India, which was pending for a long time. There is ancient civilization and cultural relations between India and Nepal, which is shown as a relationship between stronger people between the two countries.
