Electronic payments in Algeria jump 64 times in 4 years
The value of electronic payment transactions in Algeria has multiplied 64 times over the past four years, as it jumped in 2023 of 503 million Dinars ($ 3.8 million) in 2023, according to Yassin Al Mahdi Walid, Minister of Knowledge Economics and the emerging institutions of the Algerian. In an interview with Al -Sharq, he pointed out that the number of Algerians who have electronic means of payment has doubled during this period, adding that the mobile payment feature introduced by his ministry will encourage more Algerians to pay by non -money. The Algeria Minister added that his country strives to create a financial technology industry, and the establishment of completely digital banks, especially with the creation of a digital dinar by the Central Bank of Algeria.
