Several across the country due to the attack in Pahalgam, strict steps against Pakistan will be taken: Shankar Lalwani
Indore, April 26 (IANS). After the terror attack in Pahalgam, the central government took a difficult stance against Pakistan. Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah met the main ministers of various states and instructed to marry Pakistani citizens and return it from the country. The central government has announced the cancellation of visas of all Pakistani citizens, although the process of providing citizenship to people of Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and other communities living on long -term visas will continue. Indore MP Shankar Lalwani expressed sadness over the incident, saying that the Pahalgam attack is exceptionally tragic and that there is resentment in the entire country. He said strict measures against Pakistan were taken after this attack, in which the visas of Pakistani citizens who came in short-term and tourist visas were canceled. These citizens will be returned as soon as possible. However, visas of people living on long -term visas in India will not be canceled as their citizenship process is considered. When asked about the number of people affected, Lalwani said this number is quite high, but the exact figures are not yet clear. At the same time, action was strengthened under this command in Maharashtra. Mumbai police have identified 14 Pakistani citizens, whose exit permit was issued on Friday, and the remaining 5 Saturday will receive permits. This action is mainly focused on short -term visa holders. According to the Maharashtra government’s data, 5.037 Pakistani citizens live in the state, 107 of whom are untreated and 34 live illegally. The maximum number of 2.458 Pakistani citizens is in Nagpur, while their number in Thane, Jalgaon and Pune is also striking. This joint effort of the central and state governments is a decisive step against terrorism and illegal residence. The Interior Ministry has made it clear that there would be no compromise on safety, but the interests of long -term visa holders will be cared for on a human basis. -Ians Akks/CBT Share this story Tags
