PEOPLE has an exclusive look at Andrew Farago’s A Minecraft Movie: From Block to Big Screena new book about the making of the 2025 hit movie starring Jack Back, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks and Emma Myers.

The deluxe art book brings together the story of how the film was adapted from the popular video game of the same name. Featuring interviews with both the filmmakers and video game creators, A Minecraft Movie: From Block to Big Screen will also include never-before-seen images, like character designs and photography.

“This book is the ultimate companion to the first ever live-action adaptation of Minecraft,” the book’s description reads.

The book also features a foreword from Jens Bergensten, COO of the video game’s Mojang Studios.

A Minecraft Movie has already broken major records since it hit theaters on April 4. The movie had the largest opening weekend for any video game movie adaptation, and became the highest grossing film in 2025, after it surpassed $80 million during its second weekend.

The film has been making headlines for other reasons too. After Minecraft moviegoers around the globe started partaking in a viral social media trend — in which viewers film themselves vocally reacting, and occasionally throwing popcorn, during a particular scene in the movie — some theaters have started issuing warnings about audience etiquette.

“Disruptive behavior, including taking part in TikTok trends, before, during or after a screening will not be tolerated,” a spokesperson for Farham, England’s REEL cinema told Daily Echoper The Independent. “Anyone causing disruption will be asked to leave, and where necessary, the police will be called.”

A Minecraft Movie: From Block to Big Screen will be published on April 22 and is now available for preorder, wherever books are sold.
