Maharashtra approves the new education policy 2020, Hindi was made compulsory as the third language for class 1 to 5

In a major development amid language dispute, the Maharashtra government announced that Hindi will be established as a compulsory third language for students from Class 1 to 5 from 2025-26. The decision was made public by a government resolution (GR) issued by the school education department on Wednesday. So far, the three-language formula has only been applied to the secondary education level. With the move, this formula will now be expanded to primary education with the aim of renewing linguistic structures in marathi medium and English medium schools. According to the newly adopted state course structure, students from both mediums will have to learn Hindi from Class 1 themselves. For schools with other teaching medium other than marathi or English, marathi and English will become compulsory, while the relevant medium of instruction will serve as a third language. The GR has an explanation of the four-step implementation of the fake from Class 1 in 2025-26. Nep also moves from the traditional 10+2+3 structure to more flexible and age-appointed 5+3+4 models, in which schooling is divided into four different stages: Basic phase (age 3 to 8) Early stage (class 3 to 5) Eastern Physical phase (Class 6 to 8) Secondary Phase (Class 6 to 12) Secondary Phase (Class 9 to 12). Reorganize the format, which includes the policy of the basic to the high level. The notice states that the Maharashtra government led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis formed several committees to monitor the phased implementation of the policy, including the state’s management committee led by the Minister of School Education.
