MP Haji Hanifa Jaan flagged off vehicles going from Srinagar to Kargil in collaboration with DG BRO, Core Commander 14 Corps and 15 core. BRO Director General Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan said that his team has completed this historic work of opening Jojila pass by working hard day and night.

The Zojila pass connecting Ladakh to the rest of the country usually remains closed for several months during winter due to heavy snowfall and avalanche hazards. DGBR said that BRO employees work to clean this dangerous area every year despite all the obstacles, where the risk of avalanche remains a constant challenge. Opening of Jojila Pass is an engineering miracle and a proof of the dedication of the Border Roads Organization (BRO), which deploys Project Bikan in Kashmir and Project Vijayak in Ladakh to restore timely contact.
