Under the mission Shakti Yojana for the safety, honor and empowerment of women, the government will now start a Sakhi home of 50-50 capacity in nine large districts of the state. This initiative provides protection to women who are deprived of social, legal or family protection in the hour of crisis. The establishment of Sakhi Niwas Centers is funded in the ratio of 60:40 in collaboration with the center and the state government. Apart from Sakhi Niwas Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Agra, Bareilly, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar will be built. These districts were selected taking into account the number of population, urbanization and women -related matters. Kaushava training will receive training, in these residential centers, basic facilities such as living, food, textiles and medicines will be provided free of charge to women in these residential centers. Women who live here will also receive training related to counseling, legal aid and skills development as needed. This will include job training, such as sewing, computer, beauty salon, crafts.
