Haldwani: Minister Dhan Singh Rawat participated in the international cooperative year's program

Haldwani, April 4 (IANS). On the occasion of the International Cooperative Year (IYC-2025), ’empowerment of women by collaboration’ was arranged on the Haldwani Municipal Corporation campus. The program was arranged for the purpose of promoting women’s social and economic empowerment. On this occasion, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Minister of Cooperation, Health, Medical Education, Higher Education and Secondary Education of Uttarakhand attended as main guests. Dr. Rawat said in his speech that 1,100 programs across the state will be arranged to promote cooperatives, including 10 collaboration festivals and 2-3 special occasions in all banks. He said the government is aimed at making 2 Lakh women ‘Lakhpati Didi’, of which 50,000 women will be from the Nainital district. He called on women to join cooperative associations and take new projects through secretaries. For this, the government has started an online system of loans to Rs 5 Lakh, so women can easily get financial assistance. The minister also informed that collaborative societies were expanded in every gram of Sabha, in which 33% of reservation for women was assured. He appreciated the efforts to make women confident through cooperatives and promised to strengthen it further. The program discussed the support of women -yourself help groups and collaborative institutions. Women are motivated to take advantage of the government schemes. During this, Mayor Gajraj Singh also emphasized the cooperative schemes of the state government. Checks of financial aid of about Rs 40 lakh were distributed to different self -aid groups. Women’s officials who excelled in cooperative banking were honored. On this occasion, women’s groups, federations and departmental women officials who did excellent work in cooperatives and other areas in the district were also honored.
