Bangladesh: Battle of Supremacy between BNP-CNANIC LIGA, over 50 injured
Dhaka, April 26 (IANS) Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and supporters of the Awami League violated violent clashes in the Naugaon town of Habiganj. More than 50 people were injured in this collision. According to local media reports, five of the injured are in critical condition. The injured undergo treatment at Silhat Usmani Medical College Hospital. According to a report by the Bangladesh media outlet Unb, there was a long -standing tension between BNP leader Akhtar Mian and Shah Jahan Mian of the Awami League to establish supremacy in the area. According to the locals, supporters from both sides allegedly made violent clashes on Friday. The confrontation lasted about two hours and injured more than 50 people. ABM Maidul Hasan, the officer in charge of the Ajmeriganj police station, confirmed the incident that the police had reached the place and managed to bring the situation under control. Additional powers were deployed in the area to prevent unrest. Reports revealed that there were several incidents of violent clashes between supporters of both parties in different areas in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina fell in August last August. Last month, there was a clash between BNP and Awami League activists for establishing supremacy in a remote variable under Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi. Two people were killed and ten others were injured in this collision. A similar incident was revealed in February. There was a clash between supporters of BNP and Awami League in the area in the Kanipur Union of Faridpur Sadar Upazila. During this period, about 30 houses were vandalized. In addition, Awami League activists and supporters also have political oppression under the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus. Local media said more than 55 members of the Awami League were recently arrested in police to march to support Hasina in Dhaka and other areas across the country. Many leaders of the Awami League were attacked and some were killed after the withdrawal of Hasina from power.
