First foreigner that attacks India
Trending is also known as Derius I Dara I, the first foreign king to attack India. Dara was the ruler of the first Acmenid Dynasty. Which expanded his empire to the Indian subcontinent. Darius-I was born in 550 BC in Persia and today’s Iran. At the age of 28, he sat on the throne and struggled with rebellion. The government of Dara I is called the golden era of the Persian Empire. He expanded the Persia by strengthening the administrative system of its empire. He invaded India in 518 BC to expand his rich and outdoor people. He attacked the Gandhara region (Pakistan and Afghanistan) on his way to the Hindukush mountain and the northwest of India. Gandhara became the 20th province of the Persian Empire. At the time, Gandhara was one of the most prosperous provinces in India. Darius looted and destroyed the ancient Harappa and Mohenjodaro cities on the banks of the Indus River. After a large part of India is captured, the cultural exchange between Persia and India was promoted.
