Fire Trancan scheme stopped in Paonta Sahib

In the summer season, the crisis deepens due to the neglect of the fire safety infrastructure in Paonta Sahib in the Syrmaur district. Brand causes a loss of crores every year, but the city’s firefighting is very limited due to the absence of functional fire hydrant networks. A decade-old plan to install 172 fire hydrants has come to a standstill, allowing thousands of people to be uncertain despite repeated warnings and previous tragedies. Paonta Sahib’s fire safety infrastructure is extremely insufficient, there are only six old fire hydrants, of which only one has enough water pressure. The other five hidents are directly related to the most important water supply, which causes its effectiveness to be severely limited in the emergency. This deficit disrupts the ability of the fire department to quickly reach water, which increases the risk of widespread damage during large scale burns. Given the industrial scenario of Paonta Sahib, the situation is particularly alarming, with hundreds of small and large factories in areas such as Gondpur, Rampur Ghat, Rajban, Satoun, Khodawala, Badripur, Heerpur, Surajpur, Purvala, Kishanpura, Kedarpur and Kunja Matralia. In each summer, these areas have major fire incidents, leading to significant financial loss. More than a decade ago, authorities identified 172 places for new fire hydrants and prepared a comprehensive resolution for the Department of State Government and Water Power. However, despite repeated successions and increasing concerns, the project is stopped. The working fire hydrant was aimed at serving the urban and industrial areas of Paonta Sahib, but the proposal is now effectively abandoned. Share this story -tags
