Algeria locally places a strategy for the production of sustainable aviation fuel

Algeria is working on developing a strategy for producing sustainable aviation fuel locally, in a move aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the air transport sector, according to Hamza Bin Hamouda, president of the general director of Algerian Airlines in an interview with “Al Sharq”. He explained that the committee is supervising the state’s writing for renewable energies, and it consists of Algerian airlines, the company “Sonatrach”, Al -Tassili Air and “Nafal” to produce this type of fuel. Bin Hammouda notes that the local fuel production hike falls locally within a more comprehensive policy to reduce aircraft emissions, which also includes a naval renewal program, the acceptance of less fuel -propagating aircraft and the integration of advanced flight technologies that reduce carbon emissions. Algeria is expected to receive the first new aircraft at the beginning of next September, “Airbus Air 300”, after scheduling this month, as part of 16 aircraft that Algeria has completed the agreement to buy from the “Airbus” and “Boeing” companies, according to Bin Hamouda, which revealed that the company will make the coming year gradual modernization. A more comprehensive strategy for reducing aviation exemptions, in turn, says Abdel Hafeez Bouhlasa, the official of the Sustainability Project at the Algerian Airlines, in a statement to Al -Sharq that the strategic plan for the sustainability project for the national carrier aims to reduce carbon emissions by 30% at 2030. He added that work is underway to improve energy efficiency in all enterprise facilities by 10% by rationalizing consumption, and to encourage waste recycling and lowering plastic waste by 25%. Algerian Airlines began an extensive evaluation of the carbon fingerprint for its fleet, and worked to expand it to include all activities of industry, maintenance, catering and services, with the aim of drawing up an accurate database that enables decisions based on scientific and realistic foundations, according to the president of the director of the director.
