Pune, June 19 (IANS). Dr Naveen Kumar, director of the ICMR National Virology Institute (NIV), said that migratory birds and butchers are being studied under the ‘National One Health Mission’ for the prevention and examination of animals that spread from animals to humans. The National ‘One Health Mission’ (NOHM), which was launched in 2022, is taking on a health approach. This is a better change of reactive reactions to active preparations. Dr Naveen Kumar told the Ians news agency: “More than 70 percent of infectious diseases, especially viral diseases that are spread from animals to humans. Kumar said that since it is not possible without an integrated approach, “NOHM” was started with coordination with 13 or more ministries/departments. These include the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Fisheries, Animal Ground and Dairy, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Wele of Agriculture and Farmers, Science and Technology, and Ayush. These ministries together erected strong monitoring systems for human, animal and environmental health. “He said,” felt the need for this mission during the Kovid-19 epidemic, when only NIV (National Institute of Virus Sciences) was active with a bio-safety level (BSL) -4 lab, which is the highest control. The virus can be worked here and it does not leak from the laboratory. “In the midst of the epidemic, it was felt that if we had more laboratories like NIVs, our response time could have been very low at the time of Kovid.” Under NOHM, under NOHM, there will be a separate center of ‘National One Health Institute’ in Nagpur. -Ians Sch/Ekd Share this story Tags
