Even after 18 months, Jhajjar waits for the shooting range, expectations are over

Eighteen months have passed since former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the founding of the shooting range in the Jhajjar district in October 2023 – it was a promise that raised the hope among young sports lovers. However, the project remains on papers themselves, who disappointed many ambitious shooters in the region who led to international talents such as Manu Bhakar, Palak Gulia and Suruchi Phogat. Shooting is an expensive game, a lack of accessible government facilities has made it out of the reach of many talented youth, especially people who come from a minor background. Although private academics exist, their high fees prevent long -term participation for most people. Local shooter Ravi said: “The statement of the chief minister raised a hope of hope, especially for the youth of poor families who dream of making a career in the shooting. But the ongoing delay in the implementation disappointed many candidates.” He urged the state government to work quickly and fulfill the promise so that young athletes could have free practice and practice opportunities to improve their skills. Ex -servicemen and coach Ajit Jakhar, who runs a shooting academy in Jharli Village, emphasized the boundaries of existing facilities. He said: “Although some shooting centers work in Jhajjar and Bahadurgarh, the number of active players is very low compared to cities such as Gurugram and Faridabad, where families are generally more prosperous.” Jakhar also pointed to a significant difference: “There is no academy in the district that provides training for 50 meters of gun event. Interested parties have no choice but to travel to Delhi or other remote places.” The district sports officer Satyendra confirmed that the feasibility report was presented to the proposed shooting range in Nimana Village in October last year following the instructions of the state’s headquarters. He said, “Since then we have not received any other communication about the proposal.” Share this story -tags
