RJD MLA in Bihar was sent to 14 days legal supervision in forced recovery case, accused of conspiracy to murder
A court in Patna, Bihar, sent Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Ritlal Yadav on Thursday after 14 days judicial custody. The case comes a few hours after he surrendered in the Danapur court in a case of extortion with his three close colleagues. After the surrender, a large number of Yadav supporters also met out of court. Yadav spoke to the media outside the court room and demanded serious allegations, claiming that there was a conspiracy to end him. He said: “My murder is a conspiracy. My opponents provided AK-47 to carry out the murder. It’s all part of the conspiracy to capture me, especially because the election is near.” Earlier on April 11, after registering a fir against Yadav and five others on the basis of a complaint of a Patna builder, searches were offered in 11 places in Danapur and other areas of the capital. During the search operation, police also recovered more than Rs 10 Lakh cash, checks worth Rs 77 Lakh, six vacant checks, 14 deeds related to the purchase and sale of properties and 17 checkbooks. Earlier in the day, lawyer Safdar Hayat, MLA, said that Yadav did not intend to avoid the law and surrendered as soon as he became acquainted with the case. Hayat said: “It is said that a builder has falsely accused him of recovering with violence. Once he knows that the police are weakening, he voluntarily surrendered to the court with the other accused.” Earlier last year, on December 19, Bihar police attacked the home of Pinku Yadav, brother of RJD Mla Ritlal Yadav of Danapur. The attack led by Danapur assistant -superintendent of police Bhanu Pratap Singh was conducted on August 22, 2024 in connection with the investigation into the attempt to kill Patna Aiims Main Safety Officer (CSO) Premnath Rai. During the attack, police allegedly recovered Rs 11 Lakh cash, three illegal firearms, one note -counting machine, land -related documents and other financial documents. This seizure raised many questions about the source of money and the nature of the documents found. Share this story -tags
