The flight of Indigo Airlines going from Mumbai to Varanasi had to make an emergency landing at Chikalathana airport in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, while an elderly passenger died in the air. An airport officials confirmed this on Monday. Emergency landing took place on Sunday night when a woman named Sushila Devi, 89, of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh began to deteriorate during a flight. Despite the efforts of the crew to help him and take him immediately to the nearest airport, the situation became serious even before any medical assistance was provided on the ground. The official said the flight due to medical emergency emergency at about 10pm at the Chiklathana airport. At the time of the landing, the medical team examined the woman, but then she died. The official said that the MIDC Cidco police station completed the necessary formalities and that the flight to Varanasi continued. According to the airline, the body of the woman was sent to Government Medical College and the hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The flight of Indigo stopped the flight due to the collision of the bird, and the flight that went to Bengaluru was canceled last month after the plane hit the bird at the Thiruvanhapuram International Airport on March 24. Sources at the airport told PTI news agency that the incident happened just before the fly, with 179 passengers. According to airport officials, Indigo flight returned from Thiruvananthapuram to Bangalore to her bay due to the clash of 6629 birds. Later, the plane resumed after the necessary maintenance.
