Ed temporarily seized assets worth 15.78 crore in Patnitop in Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu, June 28 (IANS). The Maintenance Directorate (ED) took large steps in the case of Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) in Jammu and Kashmir. In terms of the Money Laundry Act, the central agency temporarily seized various immovable properties worth approximately Rs 15.78 crore. Authority -related assets have been accused of illegal construction and money treatment. The property seized includes income from land, buildings and hotels. These properties belong to Hotel Pine Heritage, Hotel Dream Land and Hotel Shahi Santoor, which is in the pathnitop area. During the investigation, the ED found evidence of illegal construction and money treatment in it. The maintenance directorate launched an investigation based on FIR submitted by the CBI’s anti -corruption branch (ACB). In the fir, many hotels, guest houses, resorts, cottages and housing owners and officials of Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) were made serious allegations in the fir. According to the allegations, these hotels that have been elevated with permission were used commercially and did business in limited areas such as dense forests, agricultural land and residential areas. In this whole case, the PDA officials were ignored the imperfections of compliance. The ED investigation made it clear that Hotel Pine Heritage, Hotel Dream Land and Hotel Shahi Santoor did illegal construction in more area with the consent of PDA and also earned revenue. It was a violation of illegal construction rules and was placed in the category of criminal profits. In January 2025, the ED temporarily seized assets worth Rs 14.93 crore (almost), including the land and the building of Hotel Trinetra Resort and Hotel Green Orchids and the hotel in this case.
