In the midst of controversy, Sambhal Jama Mashid can be renamed as 'Zuma Masjid'
The historic Royal Jama Masjid in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh is once again in the headings, this time as a result of the change in saints by the archaeological recording of India (ASI). A new blue ASI hangout board must be installed on the site, with the mosque labeled as the “Zuma Masjid”, which is different from the traditionally known name. This signboard, currently placed on the Satyavrat Police Post, will soon replace the old show, on which the ‘Shahi Jama Masjid’ was written – a name that the residents have been familiar with for a long time. What did the ASI officer say? ASI advocate Vishnu Sharma said with the news agency PTI that an ASI board was first placed outside the mosque, but it was reportedly removed by some individuals and replaced by a board called ‘Shahi Jama Masjid’. He said: “The new board was released by the name recorded in ASI documents, which is ‘Zuma Masjid’.” Sharma said there is already a blue Asi sign with the same name in the mosque complex. Asi has not yet said anything about the time of installing new hangouts. The Mughal Mosque was the center of a large controversy after a petition, claiming to be the site of an ancient Hindu temple. Violence broke out on November 24 last year in Sambhal’s Kot Garvi area during the Mughal Mosque recording and killed four people, while several others were injured. Share this story -tags
