Department of Social Justice A Brainstorming on Issues that Acquears Beggars and Homeless

New -Delhi, April 26 (IANS). The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has arranged a seminar to understand, consider and share information for the rehabilitation of beggars, homeless and needy in the country. The event was held in the Capital Delhi in collaboration with the World Bank. The topic was – ‘access to inaccessible population – smile (begging)’. Experts from home and abroad participated in this program. Its purpose was to promote negotiations and proceedings on strengthening the social security system for the weaker parts of society. Rajesh Aggarwal, secretary, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, while talking about achieving the inclusive development and achieving the otherwise, said: “We must speak directly to those who have given up beggar so that we can understand the real causes and effects of the actual causes and support systems.” Rajesh Aggarwal also said that the problem of dispensations is not easy to solve the social, religious and economic reasons. Benedict Laroy de la Briyre said that if someone has basic facilities such as address, bank account and healthcare, it is easy to identify and help them. The solution and targeted help must be in the program. He shared stories of his experiences, challenges and success. Economic advisor Ajay Srivastava said: “About 18,000 people have been identified under Smile Initiative, of which 1,612 people have already been rehabilitated.” He assured that the process of rehabilitation of the remaining people was reinforced. -Ians as/ share these story tags
