Bangladesh: Question for clear election card of the interim government, BNP's nationwide protest plan
Dhaka, April 5 (IANS). The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is considering protesting a nationwide protest with colleagues to emphasize the interim government’s failure to provide a clear road map for the national election. Unb, Bangladeshi -Media turnover, said on Saturday that the party would organize a massive public rally in Dhaka and set a deadline for the interim government to announce the election date. The chain of rallies will continue until May. In the name of the country on March 25, Younus said that elections will be held between December 2025 and June 2026. He said that the Consciousness Commission actively collects opinions on reforms of all political parties. A senior GNP leader said efforts were being made to expand the term of the interim government and postpone the election. The party warned that if elections were not held by December, there could be instability and ‘intense resentment’ in the people. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary of the BNP, responded to Younus’s statement, saying: ‘I am very disappointed that the main advisor did not mention a clear election card in his March 25 speech. I believe that the lack of election road map reflects the political inexperience of the government. ‘ Tariq Rahman, acting President Tariq Rahman, addressed a conference in February, accusing the interim government of Younus of creating instability in Bangladesh. He said: “We have been worried for some time that some government officials make conflicting remarks about the recovery of the rights of the people. Consequently, unrest has spread in different areas.” The famous unit of political organizations in Bangladesh, which was fully displayed in August 2024 during the removal of the democratically elected Awami League government led by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, disappeared slowly. With the country caught in crisis over the past seven months, many political leaders, who previously supported Younus, are now openly criticizing them, especially for the long delay in holding national election. -Ians mk/ share this story tags
