620 Crore projects approved for rural roads in northeast and three other states

New -Delhi, April 5 (IANS). The Ministry of Rural Development has approved projects to the value of Rs 620.63 crore for the erection of rural roads in the north -eastern region and Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Odisha with a view to promoting economic development in remote areas. This information was given in an official statement released on Saturday. Under PMGSy-3, Rs 474.71 crore is invested for the erection of rural roads in Manipur, Mizoram, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. 280.97 km long roads were approved with an estimated investment of Rs 225.15 crore to Manipur. The ministry said that earlier under the PMGSy-3 in the state 502.24 km had been approved for 54.24 km long with an estimated investment of Rs 404.72 crore. An estimated investment of Rs 67.69 crore has been approved for the construction of seven bridges in Mizoram. Earlier, 17 roads under PMGSy-3 were approved with an estimated investment of Rs 562.70 crore in the state with an estimated investment of Rs 562.70 crore. Himachal Pradesh gets Rs 140.90 crore under this scheme for the construction of 21 bridges 970,772 meters long. Earlier, an estimated investment of Rs 3,345,82 crore for the state under PMGsy-3 was approved for 299 roads with a total of 3,123,117 km length and 43 long bridges. Uttarakhand gets an investment of Rs 40.77 crore for the construction of nine bridges 246 meters long. Under the scheme, an estimated investment of Rs 1,865,34 crore has already been approved to the state for 212 roads and nine bridges. The Ministry of Rural Development has also approved Tripura and Odisha projects under the connectivity component of the Premier’s tribal tribal vocal (PM-Janman). With an estimated investment of Rs 76.47 crore for Odisha, 25 roads with a total of 84,352 km length were approved, while 63,271 km was approved for Tripura with an estimated investment of Rs 69.65 crore. The purpose of this initiative is to improve access to essential services such as healthcare, education and markets. The ministry said it would increase the connectivity in rural areas to overcome the gap between remote villages and urban centers and promoting economic growth, trade and trade in the region. -Ians SKT/ECD
