The Delhi Development Authority will build a waste-to-art theme park in Aastha Kunj in South Delhi, where replicas of antique Indian structures will be made with waste material. The park will be spread over 200 hectares and will display the legacy of historical ruins. The DDA will appoint an adviser to this park who will submit a feasibility report within 30 days. File Photo State Bureau, New -Delhi. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will develop its first Western to Art Tema Park in Aastha Kunj in South Delhi, one of its largest green areas. The park is built on the theme “Walk through the Ruins” and has replicas of antique Indian structures of waste material. It will be the specialties of the park, the proposal says, “by walking the Ruins Park, the waste released from the debris to the design walls and even benches will use. It suggests showing the legacy of rubble with unique technology, where people can see the beauty of historical ruins across India.” According to officials, the place for this park is not yet decisive. A DDA official said: “It will be DDA’s first Western to Art Park and we plan to appoint an adviser to provide assistance in the concept, development, construction and operation of the park that shows the legacy of historical structures through debris.” The official said the park would be different from other theme parks developed by MCD. The first such park was opened in 2019 by the then South MCD for visitors at Sarai Kale Khan. After its success, the corporation opened three more parks – Bharat Darshan Park in Punjabi Bagh, Shahedi Park in Ito and Heritage Park in Karol Bagh area. The Sarai Kale Khan Park has made replicas of ‘seven wonders of the world’ of recycled materials of metal pieces such as iron nuts, iron pages and bars. These MCD parks are decorated with attractive lighting and fountains. There are tickets for visitors. The 200 -Ack Faith run by DDA is distributed between Kunj Park Lotus Temple and Nehru Place. The advisor will have to submit viability report within 30 days.
