Croatia reached PM Modi to Canada, expressed gratitude to Premier Andrez Plankovic

New -Delhi, June 18 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Croatia on Wednesday after attending the ‘G7 Summit’ in Canada, Canada, where he was strongly welcomed in the capital Jagreb. During this he also shared photos on social media platform X. PM Modi on X, “Shortly before I ended up in Jagrab, the capital of Croatia. This is a special journey because this is the first visit to our important European friendly country of an Indian Prime Minister. I am grateful for Premier Andrez Plankovic to welcome me to the airport.” Actually, Premier Modi is on an official visit to Croatia at the invitation of Premier Andrez Plankovic. It is an Indian Prime Minister’s first visit to Croatia, which will be an important milestone in bilateral relations. Analysts believe that the Indian Prime Minister’s first visit to Croatia will help promote strong political and economic cooperation with the European country. This journey will also provide an important opportunity to expand bilateral collaboration in various fields, including matters, innovation, defense, harbor, shipping, science and technology, cultural exchange and dynamics for workforce. India and Croatia have close collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, defense, agriculture and both countries work together on international forums. Bilateral trade between the two countries is about $ 30 million and Indian investment in Croatia is about $ 4.8 million. Prime Minister Modi has a brief conversation with the Premier of Croatia, Plankovic, at a meeting of COP-26 in the year 2021 and the leaders of the Virtual India-European Union in the same year. In March 2019, former President Ramnath Kovind made a state visit to Croatia. During this time he received the highest civilian honor of Croatia ‘The Grand Order of the King of Tomislav’.
