Couple Fighting Over Who Ate Most of Cookie Ask for Help—Internet Delivers – ryan
A man accused his wife of eating more than half of a cookie they were supposed to share—and now, the internet has turned into a team of sleuths trying to determine exactly how much she ate.
Sharing is a fundamental part of any equal partnership, but sometimes temptation gets the better of us. That was the case for Redditor u/virrrrr29who eagerly cut into the sweet treat. The cut appeared to take more than half, and soon, the couple found themselves in a dispute over how much the wife actually ate. She shared the cookie controversy in the subreddit mildly infuriating, where it quickly went viral with over 30,000 upvotes.
“The way in which I cut it is probably the mildly infuriating part, but maybe also the fact that I ate more than half of my part? I got carried away lol I just really liked the crunchy edges more than the chewy center. Please help us settle this, I’m sure someone can give us the actual numbers,” she shared.
To help others judge, the original poster outlined the full cookie with a red circle and drew a cross down the middle to aid in calculations.
She also explained in the comments that they had just driven 45 minutes to Apocalypse BBQ in Miami and had already eaten the other cookie—making this final one all the more precious.
Redditors took the challenge seriously.
“This isn’t a cookie anymore, it’s a math problem with emotional consequences. Would you agree?” shared one user.
“The rule of fairness is that one person cuts it in half, the other picks the half they want,” said another.
Soon, users began screenshotting the cookie and applying their own cross-lines and calculations to estimate the true division.
“Note the area in square pixels on bottom left.
“The OP ate less than half of the cookie,” shared one user who calculated the pixels to be 240 to 366.

“To be more precise, OP ate roughly 48% of the cookie,” said one user.
Some criticized the original circle outlining the cookie, suggesting it was inaccurately drawn and, therefore, misleading.
“Problem is ‘professional cookie measurer’ traced the circled based on the blue cross hair, which isn’t more reliable than the red squiggly line.
“The original comment at least followed the curvature of what we have left, which is unaltered by OP.
“I require a second opinion,” said one user.
“Thanks it bothered me a lot how inaccurate ops circle was. I hope the pixel count guy also did a correct circle otherwise their whole work was for nothing,” said one commenter.
Another user went so far as to reconstruct the remaining cookie pieces and compare them to the traced half, calculating that the original poster had eaten 45.2 percent.
In the end, one Redditor summed up the shared frustration with a simple plea:
“For the love of God, next time, either:
A) PROPERLY cut the damn cookie in half, not like a maniac or
B) get more than two damn cookies,” suggested another Redditor.
