Pakistan told Tehwwur Rana 'Canadian Citizen', what is the fear of Islamabad?
Islamabad, April 10 (IANS). Pakistan responded for the first time on Thursday to the India’s extradition of 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Tehwwur Hussain Rana. Rana was brought to India after long legal and diplomatic efforts. According to media reports, the Pakistani foreign office separated him from one of the most horrific terrorist attacks on India and cited his Canadian citizenship. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “Tehwwur Rana has not renewed his Pakistani documents in the last two decades. His Canadian nationality is absolutely clear.” Experts believe that Tahwwur Rana’s relationship with the Pakistanian army and ISI can be clear when it comes to the law in India. Islamabad is afraid that Rana could reveal the role of Pakistan in a conspiracy of 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. Rana was born in Pakistan in 1961 and worked as a doctor in the Pakistani army. He later moved to Canada and became the businessman for immigration service. Rana is a close help from US Burger David Coleman Headley alias Dawood Gilani, one of the most important conspirators of the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai. Both Headley and Rana were arrested in Chicago in October 2009, when they allegedly performed a mission against a publication of Denmark, which published a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad. The Supreme Court of America rejected its application to stop the extradition in India, after which the way was cleared to bring him. On the night of November 26, 2008, 10 terrorists attacked several places in Mumbai. The attack on 26/11 killed 164 people and injured more than 300. Terrorists have killed Indians and citizens of other countries. Nine militants were killed by security forces while one Ajmal Kasab was caught alive, which was later sentenced to death. -Ians mk/ share this story tags
