The Honda Elevate, a mid-size SUV manufactured in India and exported to international markets, including Japan, achieved a 5-star security rating in the Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP), reports Cartoq. In Japan, the elevates are marketed as the WR-V, and this is the first institution of a Honda vehicle built in India that is sent to the Japanese domestic market. Stellar safety performance According to the publication, the Elevate achieved an impressive overall rating of 90 percent, with 176.23 out of a possible 193.8 points in the accident test. This produced especially strong results in preventative safety and collision safety, with 95 percent (82.22 out of 85.8) and 86 percent (86.01 out of 100) respectively. The protection of residents received 57.73 points, while pedestrian safety was at 28.28 points. In the full leading collision test, the SUV achieved 96 percent for driver protection and 88 percent for back seat passengers. In front of the offset collision, the driver protection stood 86.9 percent, while the rear passenger got a perfect 100 percent rating. The vehicle also achieved maximum points in the side impact test. Pedestrian safety tests revealed scores of 2.91 out of 4 for head protection and a full 4 out of 4 for leg protection. Manufactured in Rajasthan, which is manufactured worldwide at Honda’s manufacturing plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan, the elevates quickly became a flagship model for Honda’s export plans. Despite this success, the SUV has not yet undergone safety tests under Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP protocols. The design and functions launched in India in 2023 compete with popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Toyota Hyryder. It offers a clean, premium design with features, including LED head lamps, an electric sunroof, six airbags, a 10.25-inch touch screen inmotainment system, and Honda’s Adas suite known as ‘Honda sensing’. Under the bonnet, the Elevate houses a 1.5-liter-naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 119 hp and 145 Nm of torque, available with both hand and CVT gearboxes.
