Rivers States Sole Administrator, Ibas announces the plan to introduce a new budget for 2025
Ibas announced this when he presented a delegation from the Rivers State Caucus at the National Assembly, led by Dr. Barinada Mpigi, the senator who represents Rivers South-East District Thursday at the Government House in Port Harcourt. A few weeks after his unpopular appointment as the sole administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (RTD) Ibok dinner Ekwe Ibas announced that a 2025 awareness bill be articulated. He said that the bill, once finalized, would address critical development problems, including health care, education, agriculture and infrastructure. Ibas announced this when he presented a delegation from the Rivers State Caucus at the National Assembly, led by Dr. Barinada Mpigi, the senator who represents Rivers South-East District Thursday at the Government House in Port Harcourt. According to him, the planned budget will also focus on creating jobs for the people of the Rivers state and promoting the adoption of technology in important public sectors. “Since the Supreme Court’s ruling on the state’s budget, we have acted quickly and decided to compile a comprehensive plan for infrastructure development,” he said. “We have worked diligently to ensure that the process is transparent, inclusive, and, most importantly, speed up. Our goal is to ensure that we no longer lose time to make the necessary investments that will improve the lives of our citizens.” He added: “The budget, which is finalized, prioritizes job creation and investment in key sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure and technology. We understand the urgency of this initiative and are committed to ensuring its rapid implementation.” Ibas also sought the support of the visiting lawmakers to obtain the necessary resources and legislative support to execute his administration’s initiatives. “Your partnership is critical to ensure that the rivers remain on the path of progress and remain peace for future generations,” he emphasized. With the challenges that led to the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu, Ibas noted that dialogue, community involvement and reconciliation efforts were deployed to rebuild trust among citizens. Meanwhile, his appointment and suspension of democratic management in the Rivers state are still critical. The Take-It-It-Back movement is already planned, while the Niger Delta congress has announced its own protest action separately. Saharan Porters reported earlier that IBAs would run more than N400 billion state funds within six months, while more than N14 billion would be received monthly at the least as the local government grant.
