The director would state that he “still loves an apocalypse, British style. I still love the infected. And I still love blowing s *** up.” When bringing up the topic of murphy and his noticeable absence from trailers and marketing, boyle would only tease the actor’s return, saying: “Like all good things in life, you may have to wait a little while for him to make his appearance.”

Scheduled for release in January 2026, what’s known for sure is that The Bone Temple will feature the return of fiennes’ character, with not much Else know outside of that.
