Jakarta – Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency (BPJPH) and the Indonesian Ulema Council Fatwa Commission (Mui) said that all marshmallow chompchomp products are distributed and traded through Halal. BPJPH also said the product is safe for public consumption. BPJPH head Ahmad Haikal Hasan said the decision was transferred after the Mui Fatwa Commission carried out a thorough re -examination of the product group that became a public concern. Haikal Hasan said there was a letter from PT Catur Global success as the importer of Chompchomp in Indonesia of August 7, 2025 (number: 001/CGS-SKS/VIII/2025) at the head of BPJPH who delivered a letter from the MUI Fatwa Commission on June 26, 2025. Mui Fatwa Commission took a clarity step and also the re -examination by an independent laboratory test on the car Mallow Chompchomp (Marshmallow car), Chompchomp Flower Mallow (Marshmallow form) and Mini Chompchomp on the marshmallow (tube form) with the same number of BPJPH. Lab, he said, showed negative DNA pigs or pork peptide, which means it does not contain pork. Based on this, says Haikal Hasan, the Mui Fatwa Commission Halal on the Chompchomp products still still has effective. Haikal Hasan said chompchomp products can be distributed and used halal labels based on certificate numbers that were previously released BPJPH, namely ID00410000233780821. “This is in line with the provisions of section 10 paragraph (2) of the Act number 33 of 2014 regarding the guarantee of Halal product, that the determination of the product is issued by the MUI, in this case in the MUI Fatwa Commission letter,” Haikal said in a written statement, Tuesday (8/19/2025). Haikal said the Act 33 of 2014 regarding Halal product guarantee Section 10 Paragraph 2 determines the determination of the Halal product of the product issued by the MUI in the form of a decision to determine the halal of the product. “Then, in Article 33 paragraph 1, it is emphasized that the determination of the Halal product is carried out by the MUI, because we serve their Halal status in accordance with the Halal terms issued by the MUI Fatwa Commission,” Haikal said.
