I’m a bit surprised, as I’d say it’s probably the most widely available Vegan cheese in the UK!
Pretty much any large supermarket will sell it.
I find it quite inoffensive, so I think it’s good on that front.

I feel like this is an unpopular opinion but I think it smells and tastes like plastic. It’s not so bad melted but it is not a cheese I would choose personally. I do like the violife feta though.
-
if I want shit cheese that doesn’t taste like cheese, it’s absolutely my go to. you know like plastic American cheese? I love this stuff on my ramen and tteokbokki
-
It’s inoffensive, but you should still try more brands and if you can afford it, get your hands on some artisanal brands
-
I guess everyone’s taste buds are different but I’m not entirely sure if you are trolling or the Head of Marketing for Violife. Personally I find the taste, smell and texture of all Violife products revolting, and other than Laughing Cow I’d say that every other vegan cheese on the market is better.

Meh, it’s ok. The smoked variation is better.
-
I like it, especially in grilled cheese but that may be a familiarity thing because it was one of the first vegan cheeses I ate and the one I’ve continued to eat for the longest.
-
Nush slices are way better!
-
Cathedral City all day. Violife do a better one than this too called Cheddarton.
-
Love Violife. Always chose this over any other cheese option when I used to buy from Subway
-
As a vegan who never liked ‘cheesy’ cheese, this is my favourite! Along with the original grated, and the block. But tragically I don’t think the block is sold anymore? Haven’t been able to find it in ages. I’ve also been having trouble finding it in supermarkets lately; only certain chains seem to have it, so I’m a tad worried!

My other half and I love the violife epic mature. We did recently go to the Edinburgh vegan festival and ended up buying the 10 pack “variety” Tyne cheese. We’re working our way through them with crackers
-
No wayyyy, I think cathedral city is! But I’ve never been a cheese eater so I might be way off
-
Yes,, until you try Cathedral’s Plant Based
-
I want the cheese that costa use one their ham and cheeze toasties. Last time I went in, there weren’t any, and it wasn’t even on their tills apparently…

Guys I’m actually not a vegan cheese connoisseur I just picked this up for the fist time and was surprised that it wasn’t ass and now I have to everyday in my cheeky sandwich, it’s not that expensive I’m just cheap AND it’s low calorie and I’m a gym nut
-
I am sorry, but I bought two disgusting coconut oil based cheeses once (cheddarton and white 5), which I ended up throwing away.
I have been sticking with tofu ever since.
-
Cathedral city is the best for everyday flavour. Applewood for the smoked flavour and fantastic melting.
-
>£2 for 10 slices is a bit steep
Maybe I’m missing something but this is relatively cheap even compared to cow’s milk cheeses that are sold by the slice.
-
Simply V is the best IMO – Ocado seem to have stopped selling the range 😩
-
Nothing beats applewood smoked for me. Second would be cathedral city extra mature. Tried the Violife once, it just seemed so plasticky and melted it was even worse, like gooey plastic snot that tasted weird, I couldn’t even finish eating it.

I like it a lot for general use, and to think when I turned vegan years ago this brand was the absolute worst
-
I can’t with this cheese, it tastes so strong 🙁
-
Doesn’t compare to Chao from the US, but it’s edible!
