Shinku La and Deepak Language opened to tourists
In a major development for the promotion of tourism and connectivity in the highlights of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh, Shinku La on Darcha-Shinku La Padum Marg was officially reopened by the Laahul and Spiti district administration today for tourists’ activities. The Border Roads Organization (BRO) repaired this strategically important road to traffic on April 8, which connected the remote Laahul Valley of Himachal Pradesh to the Union area of Ladakh. Laahul and Spiti Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar confirmed that the route is now open to the movement of tourists, although under the conditions prescribed due to unexpected weather. Traffic on this route will be regulated in alternative days. On Thursday, vehicles were allowed to move from Lahaul to Zanskar, while the movement of Zanskar to Lahaul was allowed on Friday. The time is set for the trip from 09:00 to 13:00 every day. Only 4×4 vehicles and vehicles equipped with ice chains will be allowed to go on the route due to long snow and challenging road conditions. Officials have requested the passengers to follow the safety protocol issued by the district administration. In addition, partial access is also on the Manali-Leh Highway, where tourists are now allowed to travel to Deepak Language, a beautiful place outside Darcha. The repairs to the Baralacha LA section of the Bro highway continue, which is still closed. The movement of tourists in the Darcha Papel Tal division is allowed daily from 09:00 to 14:00 based on the current weather conditions. Share this story -tags
