Bihar government's big step, mushroom production will be promoted, farmers will receive award

The Bihar government has announced a new initiative to encourage the production of mushrooms to increase the revenue of state revenue and to diversify the agricultural sector. Deputy Principal Cum Agricultural Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that a scheme of Rs 4 crore has been approved to promote mushroom production under the ‘Integrated Horticulture Development Mission’ in the financial year 2025-26. Through this scheme, farmers will be provided financial aid and grants for the establishment of units related to mushroom production, so that new possibilities of commercial farming and self -employment can be opened in the state. Who will get the benefit? The scheme is especially for farmers, agriculture and private investors who want to set up units of mushroom production, sponening and compost. He said: “Mushroom is an agricultural product that is constantly increasing in the market and there is a possibility of good income in a very short time. We want the Bihar farmers to take it on a large scale.” Even in the direction of independence and empowerment of women, this scheme can also provide an opportunity for women -self -gained, young farmers and unemployed youth. Mushroom production can be done in less space, with limited resources and in a controlled environment. Technical guidance and training programs will also be managed by the government so that new units can be established smoothly. The state government will also help with the connection, brand and marketing of these units with the market connection and profit.
